Harold Dickie Bird Supports Our Foundation
We are delighted to announce that the most famous umpire in the history of cricket, Harold Dickie Bird, has kindly agreed to support the Ryan Sidebottom Cricket Foundation.
Through his charitable work with the Dickie Bird Foundation, Yorkshire legend Harold Dickie Bird has kindly agreed to support us, meaning that we can give another child the opportunity to receive quality cricket coaching for the next 8 years. We would like to thank Dickie and his foundation for this kind gesture.
The Ryan Sidebottom Cricket Foundation was originally set up following the receipt of a generous donation from an anonymous benefactor in September 2014.
The initial donation was used exclusively to kick-start the funding of a cricket coaching programme targeting youngsters from under-privileged families in Leeds, from the ages of 8 to 16. This scheme runs alongside our main stream Academy.
The Foundation sessions currently involve training number of youngsters from inner city Leeds schools, developing their cricket skills. The prime objective of the foundation is to help each individual maximise their potential on and off the cricket pitch and encourage them to achieve their goals.
